Two wheeler Sales analysis - July 2014

As most of the 2 wheeler manufacture declare their result for July 2014, Sign is very clear that strong sales in 2 wheeler and scooter is continue .

We have collected information and figure for all major two wheeler and scooter manufactures except Suzuki  and all two wheeler manufacture reported growth on YOY basis other than Mahindra and Mahindra which sales down by 7 % but still the dark horse in two wheeler is Honda which again reported growth of over 30% . Royal Enfield reported highest growth of 79% for this month.

As expected Hero is still on top of sales chart with over  5 lakh sales in a month.

Key Trend

Ø  Hero is growing constantly in this FY , this month also it has growth of 8 %.

Ø  Honda is keeping its momentum and this month also recorded around 1 lakh increase in sales number compare to last year due to strong scooter sales.

Ø  Bajaj is back on track thanks to increase in exports, the organization seems to overcome its labor issues and as new launches in their kitty , it is expected to perform better in coming months.

Ø  TVS again shows its sprit and reported 32 % growth in July 2014.

Ø  Royal Enfield is returning with Bang as continuously having growth of over 70% in recent months. Definitely it is leader in its segment.

Ø  Mahindra has one bad month in recent time, but with their plan and realigned sales strategy and upcoming models may place them in better position in coming month.

May 2014 - Two wheeler sales analysis

May 2014 was very promising for two wheeler industry as every major company recorded increase in sales for this month.

There is growth reported for domestic sales as well as exports.

Hero remain Market leader with over 6 lakh sales , this is their record sales in a non festival month. But the cherry of cake is Honda with astonishing increase in sales.

 Honda recorded increase in sales by 55% and 126582 nos. This is even highest if you add up other manufactures sales nos.

Bajaj reports steady growth thanks to their exports.

M&M gain the highest growth percentage .

• Market Share detail is as below

Hero Motocorp retain his share , while there is increase in market share for Honda.

• Growth in May 2014. 

M&M reported highest growth in May 2014 with 131% increase in their sales. Honda is no. 2 in terms of sales growth with 55% increase. Yamaha Continues its good show with 40 %  growth in sales.

• Growth in terms of numbers.

As discussed earlier in this blog, Honda outperformed everybody in terms of growth . Details are as below.

Again if we combine the increase in sales by all companies except Honda and compare it with Honda nos. by Honda is still ahead with over 2000 nos.
